To obtain copies of your marriage certificate from Riverside County, you have several choices. Please note that after your marriage, your signed license must be returned to the County within 10 days, however it may take several weeks for the license to be recorded, at which time you will be able to obtain a certified copy of your marriage certificate. We suggest that you obtain 2-3 copies of your marriage certificate. You will inevitably need them one day.
You can visit one of the Riverside County County Recorder’s offices. The locations are shown on this page.
You can request a copy of your marriage certificate directly by mail. The application form is here. You must have this form notarized, and you must send in the fee which is stated on the form. The address to send the form to is also shown on the form.
Another way to obtain a copy of your marriage certificate is through an online service called VitalChek. For the cost of the certificates plus up to $25 for a service fee and shipping, they will have the marriage certificates mailed to you. You may also need to have a form they provide notarized, scanned, and faxed back to VitalChek which is an additional $10 in notary fees. VitalCheck is a more expensive option.
